Dr. Hira Iqbal O.D. graduated with honors in 2013 from The University of Houston College of Optometry after completing her undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Houston.
While a student Dr. Iqbal’s clinical skills earned her the Excellence Award in Family Practice. Her clinical training included various rotations at the Houston Medical Center and in the public health system of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah,Oklahoma where she gained extensive experience in working with severe and rare forms of ocular disease.
Dr. Iqbal is also licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents while being certified as a Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease which means that she can diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of ocular conditions including allergies, infections, injuries, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
In 2018, Dr. Iqbal achieved her dreams of owning her own practice and that’s when Vision Comfort was created. Her goal is to make Vision Comfort, the center of eye care for the entire community. Dr. Iqbal has a natural passion for people and healthcare. Both together, she has a unique approach in how she runs her business. In her spare time Dr. Iqbal enjoys cooking, watching documentaries, yoga, traveling internationally and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr Emily Nguyen, O.D. was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Texas at Austin and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry degree. After graduating, she returned to San Antonio as an associate doctor at a private practice. Dr. Nguyen is proficient in a full range of eye care treatment and management that includes primary care, dry eyes, contact lens fitting, co-management of refractive and cataract surgeries, glaucoma, and other ocular diseases. She looks forward to being back in Houston and providing exceptional eye care for patients in the area. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and her three dogs: Puff, Taro, and Chloe
